Background

Athletics Australia is the peak body for athletes in Australia.

Athletics Australia engaged advertising agency George Patterson Y&R to redevelop and transform the Athletics Australia website into a dynamic web portal.  GPY&R in turn enlisted Datalink's technical expertise to put together the technical features of the website.

Solution

Datalink implemented the website using Freestyler, which allows multiple Athletics Australia editors to easily update the content of the web portal and use it to disseminate news and information to members and the general public.

Site features include:

  • A rich media interface with streaming video, news feeds, media galleries, blogs, events and web polls that can be linked to pages throughout the site.
  • A personal recreational running log which enables athletes to track their performance.
  • A podcasting system which allows visitors to listen to sound bites on their Apple iPod.
  • A dynamic club locator that lets athletes find a local club.
  • Innovative banner management, events management and newsletter subscriptions.
