Australian Society for the Study of Obesity
Background
Based in New South Wales, the Australasian Society for the Study of Obesity (ASSO) is a scientific organisation of medical practitioners, dietitians, scientists and other health care professionals interested in obesity research, treatment or public health initiatives directed at the prevention of obesity with over 500 members throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Region.
The society engaged Datalink to create a website that would provide members with a suite of interactive features.
Solution
Datalink re-designed the ASSO site, using the Freestyler Content Management, non-technical office administration staff are able to maintain the content. The use of Freestyler enhances the site navigation, which additionally packages content for users based on profiles.
The web membership system provides a range of features for members and executives including custom homepages, access to restricted information, the ability to update their details online and participate in interactive discussion forums.
Information is co-ordinated with the Society by synchronising with the national office's MYOB database.
An e-commerce feature allows ASSO to accept membership related payments online.
