Australian Psychoanalytical Society

Background

The Australian Psychoanalytical Society administers training guidelines for psychoanalysis in Australia through its branches, co-ordinates conferences, academia and publications.

Being part of an international design, APAS wanted to differentiate itself with a new website design with an Australian focus.
The ability for society officials to manage the website content was a key strategic aim.  APAS were looking for a development partner to take care of ongoing maintenance and to outsource their hosting to (as their site was previously hosted in-house).
With multiple branches and committees, APAS required a framework which could support multiple sites with distinct identities to operate side-by-side under the same web presence.

Solution

Datalink conducted a design brief with the key stakeholders at APAS, from which an effective architecture was found to structure the site's content to appeal to its main target users.

An information focussed design and style guide gives APAS a framework to add new pages and maintain the site using Freestyler.

A clickable Australia map allows members to navigate to their local branches.

The site also features an interactive area for both trainee psychoanalysts and members known as "APAS Portal".

For member seminars, the site features online registrations, podcasting, streaming audio and RSS feeds.
