Datalink is passionate about the internet, and we’re looking for a smart software developers and web designers that share this passion to join our team and help us build the future of the internet.
These roles will suit undergraduate or post-graduate students with a passion for Web 2.0, who want to gain commercial experience in a part-time role whilst studying. The roles can lead to full-time positions at the conclusion of your studies, and you will work on a variety of projects (including some big names) along the way, giving you great resume fodder!
Web Designer
If the challenge of analysing business communications’ requirements to design and build an expressive and usable web interface sounds like fun, you’d love this role.
You will be involved from the very start of each web project to understand a customer’s communication needs before designing a website and information architecture to meet that need. Then, you will work with others to build the site in XHTML/CSS/Javascript/Flash and integrate it into our content management system.
Web Software Engineer
This role is a software engineering role that utilises web technologies to solve complex business problems. If you think writing a replacement to Windows XP in Javascript sounds cool, then this role is for you (don’t worry - we’re not seriously doing this...)
You will work in our web services team building and supporting e-business systems using the latest open standards and technologies including XHTML/CSS, SOAP, XML, AJAX, SQL, PHP & Javascript. You will also have an opportunity to be involved in the technical design process.
Our projects are web/intranet/extranet systems based on Datalink technology combined with custom object-oriented PHP code, running on both Linux and Windows systems.
