Sydney Morning Herald and The Age feature former Datalink team member turned e-entrepeneur

09 October 2007

Guy King, a former member of the Datalink team has been featured in the Fairfax tech article "Revealed: the brains behind Bugmenot" for his bugmenot.com website.

Guy was a lead Freestyler CMS developer when he began working on the Web 2.0 application "bugmenot.com" as a hobby.  We are firm believers that fostering rather than stifling talent and ideas not only leads to professional development but has benefits across our own range of innovative products and services.

Bugmenot.com has been such a success that Guy has now started his own business which is rapidly growing with the introduction of "retailmenot.com".  The applications enable users to get the benefits of online offers that usually require compulsory registration.

We wish him the best of luck with his fast growing dot com business.

2007 Datalink Footy Tipping champion

06 September 2007

Congratulations to Andrew Berry, Datalink's footy tipping champion for 2007.

Having finished bottom of the table in 2006, Andrew's amazing turnaround in form can only be described as remarkable.  No doubt he had a little help from his friends this year.  He led the ladder all year and pulled out some excellent rounds to steamroll the competition.  We knew about 3 rounds before the end of the season that he had won unanimously over last years winner Sean Fishlock and runner-up Bradley Hogan.

The prize of our annual footy tipping comp is usually a cash prize and a rostered day off.  However this years winner is off overseas on extended leave, so he will literally take the money and run.  We wish him well in his travels.

Nintendo Wii Party

07 May 2007

Last Friday evening we put our office projector to good use ... with a Nintendo Wii party being an office bonding exercise.

Just to prove we're all a bunch of big geeky kids, we gave the console a bash in the meeting room, playing Wii sports games such as boxing, tennis and golf.

Boxing seemed to be very popular way of taking frustrations out, we were soon going for each other like Rocky Balboa.  Bradley proved a good Wii boxer, while Scott seemed to have drumming down pat.

Good all round fun.
