What is Web 2.0 and what does it mean for me ?
Web 2.0 ushers a whole new era in the world wide web - the user defined web.
It is a social phenomenon which has the potential to support whole new business models.
Web 2.0 is an architecture of participation, where users determine the importance and relevance of content through social bookmarking, wikis, blogs and other consumer generated media. It is interactive and community building.
Content takes on a new power through social networking and syndication of content across websites (using technologies such as RSS, XML and web services).
You may have used a Web 2.0 website without even knowing it. Sites like eBay, YouTube, MySpace, Wikipedia, Blogger, del.icio.us and Flickr have grown enormously in popularity.
The field is growing faster than the academics can describe it, as it grows exponentially with the interaction of each new Internet user. The term Web 2.0 itself is constantly being refined and redefined as newer and newer ways to use it are found with each new development.
As a company, we have anticipated this direction for the Internet. We know Web 2.0 and we have a good idea as to where it is headed, so jump on board and enjoy the ride ...
