Profile: Scott Davey
Scott is a founder and the current Managing Director at Datalink.Over the last 11 years, Scott has accumulated a broad experience with all aspects of large-scale website delivery including project scoping, web strategy, usability, information architecture, technical design, software engineering, internet security, content management, quality assurance, e-commerce and e-marketing.
He founded Datalink in 1998 and has built up a dynamic team of web professionals, but still enjoys performing the most advanced consulting, strategy and engineering services personally.
Scott's technical background includes leading the development of a number of successful large-scale software products, plus engineering a high-performance web hosting service, consulting on usability and information architecture, designing various e-business interoperability frameworks, developing a number of e-commerce systems, and technically leading numerous e-business projects, intranets and extranets for governments, unions, associations and corporations.
Scott has developed a keen interest in the strategic development of e-citizenship, has written a number of e-business and e-government strategies and spoken at various conferences on the subject, including one as keynote speaker.
In addition to being a Senior Member of the Australian Computer Society, Scott is also a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, is on the board of two privately-held companies, and provides strategic and technical advice to many others.
Scott's greatest interest is in the strategic intersection of business and the internet, as he believes this represents one of the biggest challenges to organisations of the future.
