Exciting new Sport and Environment initiative launches website

03 December 2007 - By Sean Fishlock

Sport 4 the Environment is an exciting new non-for-profit initiative aimed at assisting sporting clubs to implement environmental policies.

The launch of the initiative was featured in the Sydney Morning Herald and Melbourne's Herald Sun.  At the launch were high profile sports men and women including Alisa Camplin and Ian Thorpe.

“The Sport 4 the Environment website is an interactive platform that will help sporting clubs and organisations make positive steps towards environmental sustainability,”  Thorpe said.  “It will provide vital information on improving their environmental operation by saving water, utilising green energy and introducing environmentally friendly transport options.”

The website, designed and built by Datalink features a range of online initiatives including multimedia, working directly with PR and marketing firm Initiative Marketing.

Being both a big sport fan and a bit of an environmentalist, I was thrilled to be involved in this project.

More information on Datalink's involvement in this project including a link to the site can be found in the online portfolio.
