Interactive Online Membership Rates Calculator Improves PDL's member services

Pharmaceutical Defence Limited have launched a new interactive online membership rates calculator, built by Datalink, on their website which boosts their member services.

Datalink worked with PDL to identify the need, plan and build an online calculator which would make it as quick and easy as possible for prospective PDL members to calculate their total cost of membership.

The tool enables users to calculate their membership rates simply by entering their postcode and optionally start date of insurance cover.

Before the calculator was implemented, this was done by phone call to the PDL office.  Since launching, the page has attracted a large percentage of website visitors and the overal site visits have grown.  This has greatly streamlined customer service by providing convenience of 24x7 quotes as well as reducing PDL's costs by reducing the administration load of phone calls.

The calculator uses Dynamic HTML and AJAX technologies and is backended to a database which is managed from PDL's office via an Excel spreadsheet, making it extremely easy for PDL to manage.
