New Heath Services Alliance Website Launched
10 June 2009
The Australian Health Services Alliance (AHSA) recently launched a new website with a range of interactive e-services, built by Datalink.
AHSA is a collective bargaining company for Registered Private Health Funds across Australia. It is the third largest purchaser of private hospital and health care services in Australia.
The company had an existing website, but came to Datalink with some complicated project needs. The company's old website was little more than an information brochure, but AHSA wanted a website which would act as a portal for stakeholders including member funds, doctors, hospitals and health providers. The new website was aimed at significantly reducing the company's administration overheads.

This entailed an intensive user-centred design approach as well as sophisticated integration with the company's information systems.
The public face of the website contains a basic introduction to the company and portal pages for the different audiences, but does have some interesting features, including:
- Search for a Gap Cover Doctor
- Health Fund Registration and Certification
- Personalisation
- e-Bulletins, circulars and archive
- Provider Search
- Data Warehouse - transmission of data cubes
- Secure Data Exchange - allowing member funds to securely transmit data to each other
Using Central Portal, Datalink also delivered a new Intranet for AHSA which works hand-in-hand with the website to streamline the company's communications.
Datalink have worked with AHSA over a number of months to complete the first stage of the project and looks forward to continuing to support and maintain the website.
Datalink's Joanne Hooper and Bradley Hogan worked together to build the site with project management from Sean Fishlock.
