Counselling Website Optimised and Overhauled
12 June 2009
A small business personal and relationship counselling company has taken the next step online with a Datalink built website.
Datalink worked with Chila & Associates on an online marketing strategy that would take the business to the next level online.
The report identified problems with the performance of the existing website, particularly in terms of natural/organic Google search rankings and landing pages. The existing website was little more than an information brochure, which ranked very poorly. The site was hosted at Bigpond, meaning it was also costing a lot more in hosting fees than it should have. The business owners weren't satisfied that the website was providing key information such as the Medicare Rebate and that it wasn't well integrated with offline and online advertising campaigns.
As a first step, Datalink provided Chila & Associates with a new website design, following a creative consultation. Datalink co-ordinated a new logo and branding for the company and the new website introduced more effective imagery.
"I feel like I've traded a T-Model Ford for a Mercedes Benz", says Tony Chila following the website redesign.

The Freestyler CMS now provides Tony with a means of updating and maintaining the website to reduce ongoing development costs. It also allowed several search engine friendly features to be introduced to the site including search engine friendly URLs, keyword metada and landing pages.
Several Google features were implemented and optimised including Adwords campaigns, Analytics, Website Optimizer, Webmaster tools and Local Business Center.
To new website has resulted in decreased ongoing business costs including a reduction in the cost of a paging system as the website now handles Email-to-SMS alerts for bookings.
Datalink's Jenny Joseph put the site together with project oversight from Sean Fishlock.
