Boroondara Community Forums Launched
The City of Boroondara has begun community consultation using Web 2.0 with the launch of "Boroondara Community Forums" website.
One of the first of its kind in Australia, the idea of the forums was to provide a "Youth Space", for young people and youth advisors to get together online to discuss issues that effect them. The idea was expanded to other areas of the council.

The new Boroondara Community Forums is the latest local council website to make use of YOUTH Portal, a solution based on the Freestyler framework which enables community participation and consultation through a range of Web 2.0 features, including an integrated discussion forum module.
The solution, which has both public and private workgroups enabled is currently being piloted amongst focus groups in the community of the City Boroondara.
Datalink's Bradley Hogan was behind the programming involved in putting the forums together.
