Talking e-Democracy with Government of China
Upon invitation of the Australia-China International Association, senior Datalink consultant Scott Davey presented an e-democracy vision to delegates from the Chinese government on 13th September at the Victoria University lecture hall in Melbourne.
The 30 delegate strong Chinese contingent were on a fact finding mission in Australia looking at practical e-democracy technologies and practices.
Scott's speech, translated into Chinese, covered political tools such as blogging, data integration strategies and information privacy and security in the context of web 2.0 content management platforms and in particular the application of tools such as Freestyler Local Government Edition and Central Portal.
The seminar was well received, with plenty of interest from the delegates. We would like to thank the Association for the fantastic cross-cultural opportunity.
