Datalink Responds to Bushfire Crisis with MECC offer
In light of the weekend's terrible bushfire tragedy which has done so much damage to Victorian communities, Datalink are offering for local Victorian councils to use our new emergency coordination software, at no cost for the remainder of the fire season.
MECC Portal was purpose built to manage largescale emergency fire situations like those which have effected the hardest hit areas such as the Shire of Murrindindi. Whittlesea, Nillumbik and the Shire of Yarra Ranges (all of which, coincidentally are Datalink customers operating Datalink's Youth Portal which has been helping send the bushfire awareness message for over a year) were also badly effected.
Although the pilot has been running at the Alpine Shire Council in the Bright area which has seen some fires, it would be of use to councils in these areas and other areas where the fires continue to claim lives such as Bendigo and Gippsland. Datalink are currently releasing a version of the software which is suitable for councils in other Australian states, as well as potentially being used for emergency operation centres around the world.

For information on the MECC, Datalink can be contacted on 1300 DATALINK.
