Athletics Australia wins Australian Sports Award for their Datalink website

The Athletics Australia website - athletics.com.au - built by Datalink, has taken out the Information Technology category of the Australian Sports Awards for the best website information system of 2007.

The Australian Sports Awards have been running since 1980 and the Information Technology category has been awarded since 2000.  The award for technical excellence puts athletics.com.au up there with the best sports sites on the web.  But I've been saying that for ages and we've known that all along !

Among the impressive array of technical and database integration features such as a club locator and personal running log, the site has a cutting edge rich media interface with streaming video, live results and events.  The web portal features a content management system, Freestyler, which powers the site-wide content, including extensive news feeds, media galleries, blogs, events and web polls that can be linked to pages throughout the site, a podcasting system, a dynamic club locator, innovative banner management, events management and email newsletter subscriptions.

We're very happy to see our role acknowledged, even if indirectly, as the Athletics Australia website is a great Internet solution.
