The Elements of User Experience - User-Centred Design for the Web Review
Having read James Jesse Garrett's blog some time ago and been familiar with the "elements chart", I decided to read this book, "The Elements of User Experience" looking for something a bit more in-depth in the field of usability.
The book has a great system for describing the web design process and goes beyond the simplified way that most companies approach it. To be honest, I really was expecting something a bit different, and for me, the book doesn't introduce anything new. But upon reading it I realised its benefit. It does, however, explains the process and concepts in a clear, concise way, showing the way that each of the steps relates to each other. I was impressed that I could read the book in virtually one sitting, it was a virtually effortless read and I never got lost in detail or technicalities as tends to happen with many other books.
Anyone involved in planning or managing large website projects should definately be familiar with the concepts that Garrett outlines in the book.
Our own methodology is very similar in a lot of ways, although, the terminology always does tend to differ.
